Checkmate

Hi! My name is Checkmate, and I’m a 6-month-old, female, orange tabby kitten. Yes, it’s rare to be an orange female, so you’d be very lucky to have me! I started life on a chicken farm with my three siblings, where some kind humans took us in, got us vet care, and reached out to Purring Hearts VA for help. We were all named after games, and I’m currently living in a foster home with my brother, Lottery. I enjoy playing with him, but I’m also perfectly happy entertaining myself with toys until it’s nap time. Then, I’m all about the cuddles! I’ve got lots of kitten energy, so I’d do great in a home with another young cat, or even better, with my brother by my side. I’m very curious (some might say nosey) and love following my foster parents around to see what they’re up to. Big human faces can be a little scary though, so kisses aren’t my thing just yet. I’m still getting used to other cats, but with a proper introduction, I’ll do just fine. I haven’t met kids or dogs yet, and since I can be a bit nervous, I’d do best in a cat-only home and with older (12+) children.
